ESF La Bresse and ESF Gérardmer take children from age 3 in a children’s garden (« jardin d’enfants »: Mini Piou at 3, Piou or Piou-Piou at 4), ESF Lac Blanc opens its Club Piou Piou at 4 years completed, and Moonshot states a Montessori approach from age 4. The word « kindergarten », which many parents type into search, appears on none of the pages read on 26 October 2026: the schools write « jardin d’enfants », « club Piou-Piou » or « Mini Piou ».
To place these lessons within a ski stay with children, the complete guide to skiing at La Bresse Hohneck brings together slopes, lift passes and conditions.

At La Bresse: the ESF children’s garden and Moonshot
The tourist office listing describes a children’s garden at ESF La Bresse equipped with two fils-neige (rope tows) and two moving carpets; the Mini Piou page writes « 2 télécordes, 2 tapis roulants couverts » (2 rope tows, 2 covered moving carpets).
Mini Piou is a group lesson for 3-year-olds in a group of 4 children, in 1-hour slots, as 6 lessons from Sunday to Friday, with a medal at the end of the week. Piou follows at 4, with 8 children per instructor at most and medals at the end of the stay (Piou-Piou, Blanchot, Sifflote, Garolou or Ourson). Before age 3, Baby Snow is a private lesson of 30 minutes offered from the moment the child walks: the child sits in a small seat and the instructor gives the sensations of gliding. The equipment is supplied by the school.
ESF describes a partnership with the nursery and childcare centre at the foot of the children’s garden, which allows formulas combining ski lessons and childcare. The Club Petits Skieurs page states that the nursery takes children from 3 months to 12 years for snow games without skis, and that the municipal childcare centre « Anicé le Sotré » takes children aged 3 to 12 alternating with the ski lessons.
Moonshot teaches skiing and snowboarding with a Montessori approach, for children from age 4 as for adults. Its group lessons are limited to 8 people. The listings read describe neither a children’s garden nor a formula before age 4, which in our reading makes it an option for children who are already 4.

At Gérardmer: the ESF club Piou-Piou
The Gérardmer tourist office page read describes no ski children’s garden. The information comes from the ESF Gérardmer site: its Petits section, for ages 3 to 4, points to the club Piou-Piou, where children progress in the children’s garden with a moving carpet and fils-neige. Mini Piou (age 3) and Piou-Piou (age 4) come as 6 lessons of 55 minutes from Sunday to Friday during school holidays, or 5 lessons of 55 minutes from Monday to Friday outside holidays, medal included. The meeting point is the children’s garden, next to the Piou-Piou chalet, 10 minutes before the lesson.
