The Gérardmer ski swap (bourse aux skis) takes place from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 November 2026 at the Espace LAC, 17 faubourg de Ramberchamp. The poster carries, among others, the logos of the Gérardmer Ski Alpin club and of the Town of Gérardmer, and the regulation of the event is published on the club’s website. The times, fees and rules below come from the poster, the tourist office listing and the regulation, reread on 14 October. The last part of the article gives what the ski resorts announce so far for the 2026-2027 season.
Dates and times
| Day | What | Time |
|---|---|---|
| Friday 13 November | Equipment drop-off | 9 am to 7 pm |
| Saturday 14 November | Sales to the public | 9 am to 6 pm |
| Sunday 15 November | Sales to the public | 9 am to noon |
| Sunday 15 November | Collection of unsold items | 3 to 5 pm |
Entry is free according to the tourist office listing. The swap accepts ski and mountain equipment as well as sports equipment, except bicycles; the regulation adds sports clothing. The club holds a private sale reserved for its licensed members up to date with their subscription and for its partners: its date is not published. For any question, contact the Maison de la Montagne, 5 place du vieux Gérardmer, on 03 29 60 98 04 or at gerardmer-ski-alpin@orange.fr. The club is also looking for volunteers: the sheet is to be returned before Monday 2 November, and a meal is provided for volunteers.
Dropping off equipment: what the regulation says
The swap lets private individuals resell winter sports items to other private individuals. The club receives the goods and offers them for sale, without becoming their owner. It does not guarantee the sale and declines responsibility for damage caused by handling or trying on, accident, theft or fire.
The club accepts or refuses items according to its own criteria (appearance, fashion, safety, condition of the equipment), with no right of appeal. Clothing must be spotlessly clean, and the club may object to a price it considers excessive. For each accepted item, a contract slip is drawn up, one copy of which is given to the depositor. Non-professional depositors make a declaration on their honour of non-participation in two ski swaps in the calendar year. Items sold as a pair or a lot must be inseparable, and each item carries a white label with no distinguishing mark, following the coding given by the club. Professionals are covered by articles 14 to 17 of the regulation and must first apply to the club.
Drop-off fees are paid per item, according to the asking price.
| Asking price | Drop-off fee per item |
|---|---|
| 0.10 to 9.99 euros | 1.00 euro |
| 10.00 to 29.99 euros | 1.50 euros |
| 30.00 to 49.99 euros | 2.00 euros |
| 50.00 to 99.99 euros | 2.50 euros |
| 100.00 to 149.99 euros | 3.00 euros |
| 150.00 to 249.99 euros | 3.50 euros |
| 250.00 to 500.00 euros | 4.00 euros |
The regulation’s table stops at 500 euros. Licensed members of the club up to date with their subscription and partners are exempt from these fees.

Selling: commission, unsold items and information
The club states that it takes no commercial margin and only a commission for the practical organisation. Article 9 sets this fee at 11%. It states both that the sale price is the price asked by the seller plus 11%, and that the depositor receives, once the item is sold, the sale price minus 11%. The text gives no worked example: ask the club for one before setting your prices.
No information on the sale of an item can be given before the return of unsold items, or by telephone. Unsold items must be collected on Sunday 15 November between 3 and 5 pm. After that slot, the club keeps them on its premises, at the owner’s risk: they can be collected by appointment with the club secretary, at the earliest on Monday 23 November and at the latest on 18 December, for 5 euros per item. After that date, the equipment becomes the property of the club.
Buying: to read before choosing
According to article 6 of the regulation, the buyer takes the equipment as it is, after examining and checking it, and gives up any action against the association if they consider themselves wronged. The regulation prohibits any fitting or assembly of bindings on skis or snowboards inside the Espace LAC: in our reading, it is better to ask the club, before buying, how to have bindings fitted and adjusted. If you are hesitating between buying and renting, rental prices are in our guide to ski rental in La Bresse.
