On 19 October 2026, of the Vosges ski resorts checked, three show an opening date for winter 2026-2027: La Bresse Hohneck, Gérardmer and Bussang Larcenaire, all from Saturday 19 December 2026. The other resorts checked have not published a season start date. This update gives what each resort writes on its own pages, reread that day, as well as the local press for Lac Blanc.
The three published dates
| Resort | Published date | Published end of season | Wording of the source |
|---|---|---|---|
| La Bresse Hohneck | Saturday 19 December 2026 | Sunday 21 March 2027 | ”subject to snow conditions” |
| Gérardmer | from Saturday 19 December 2026 | not given | ”forecast opening”, “depending on snow conditions” |
| Bussang Larcenaire | Saturday 19 December 2026 | Sunday 7 March 2027 | ”forecast opening 2026/2027 season” |
These dates remain forecasts that depend on snow. The Bussang website also shows “station closed” and zero runs open out of nine on the date of checking. The resort gives opening hours of 9 am to 5 pm, with a closure from noon to 2 pm Monday to Friday from Monday 4 January 2027 until Friday 5 February 2027, outside school holidays.

The resorts that have not published a date
- Lispach: the 2026 / 2027 lift prices are online, but no opening date comes with them. The resort’s FAQ says “the season opens from late December to mid-March non-stop”, without a year. In our reading, this sentence describes a typical season and does not amount to a 2026-2027 date. The eight runs are shown as closed on 19 October. Details in our guide to Lispach in 2026-2027.
- Le Markstein: the alpine skiing page states “opening depends on weather conditions”, and the rates page is still headed “Hiver 2025 / 2026” (winter 2025 / 2026). See skiing at Le Markstein from La Bresse.
- Champ du Feu: the ski area is announced as open from 9 am to 5 pm depending on weather conditions, with opening forecasts updated daily during the season. The page checked gives no start date.
- La Schlucht: the passes page is headed “Nos forfaits de ski La Schlucht 2025/2026” (our La Schlucht ski passes 2025/2026) and gives no date.

Lac Blanc: no alpine skiing this winter
On 1 July 2026, the joint committee (comité syndical) of the Lac Blanc site decided to end the operation of the ski lifts from the 2026-2027 season, according to the local press (15 alpine ski runs, seven lifts). On 8 July, the same outlet reported, citing France 3, that this closure might not be final, with no official decision announced. For this winter, the resort’s website is explicit: its alpine passes page states that “alpine skiing is closed this winter” and that “no alpine ski pass will therefore be offered for sale this season”. Its opening hours page says that the Nordic area welcomes visitors throughout the season, “while the alpine area is closed”, and its winter page puts cross-country skiing, sledging and snowshoeing forward. Our guide to the Lac Blanc resort follows this story.
Before booking
A forecast date can move with the snow. Before buying a pass or booking accommodation, check the page of the resort you have in mind: it carries the up-to-date date. To compare snow cover and ski areas, our comparison of the Vosges resorts remains the starting point.
