When the Hohneck disappears into the clouds, the valley offers workshop visits that do not depend on the weather. Six addresses announce openings for the All Saints’ holidays (Saturday 17 October to Sunday 1 November 2026). Days and times come from the La Bresse Hautes Vosges tourist office listings and, where one exists, from the establishment’s own website, reread on 6 October; the weekly hours are those of the 2026 grids. A phone number is given at each stop: a call before you leave saves a wasted trip.
At the Lecomte-Blaise distillery, in Nol
The house, based in Nol near Vagney, offers a self-guided route that passes the 1903 fruit vat room and a demonstration still, then an 8-minute film in French on how the spirits are made. The visit ends with a tasting of your choice among more than 60 products (eaux-de-vie, liqueurs, aperitifs, gins, whiskies, absinthes). The visit and tasting are free. It is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to noon and from 2pm to 6pm, except public holidays. Phone: +33 3 29 24 71 04. Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health; drink in moderation.
At the Atelier à Pâtes, in Thiéfosse
This craft business, created in 2012, makes fresh and dried pasta from local ingredients: free-range eggs from Basse-sur-le-Rupt, wild garlic, nettle, Lorraine einkorn, saffron from Plombières-les-Bains. During school holidays, free guided tours are held at 10.30am on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Booking by phone is compulsory: +33 9 54 90 94 20. The shop, at 6 place de la Mairie, is open Monday to Friday from 10am to noon and from 2pm to 6pm.
At the Bleuforêt sock factory, in Vagney
Bleuforêt makes socks and tights in the Vosges. The factory visit is possible on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from age 6, by reservation on +33 3 29 23 45 45: free up to 12, then 5 euros per person. The factory shop, at 2 rue du Jumelage, is open Monday to Friday from 9am to noon and from 2pm to 5.30pm.
At the Poterie du Grand Duc, in Rochesson
The workshop and its sales area are open Tuesday to Sunday, from 10am to 7pm (until 5pm on Sunday according to the grid). During school holidays, workshop visits with a throwing demonstration are offered Wednesday to Sunday, at 10am and 11am. To get your hands in the clay, the creative workshop welcomes adults and children from age 3, by registration: modelling and colouring a decorative earthenware piece for adults (45 euros), small hanging decorations for children (35 euros). The All Saints’ sessions run from 2.30pm to 5pm on Wednesday 21 October, Sunday 25 October and Wednesday 28 October. Phone: +33 6 67 41 81 50.
At the Wood Museum, in Saulxures-sur-Moselotte
The Wood Museum is a sawmill on the water: its centrepiece, the Haut-Fer, a vertical saw in working order, is driven by a bucket wheel 4.20 m in diameter. The visit is guided and lasts about 1h30. It costs 6 euros full price, 3 euros reduced and 1 euro for a child. It opens on Fridays from 2pm to 5pm until 18 October, then on Wednesdays and Fridays from 2pm to 5pm from 19 October to 1 November, with a last visit at 3.30pm according to the text of the listing. The museum is closed on public holidays, and the listing publishes no opening between 2 November and 5 February 2027. Phone: +33 3 29 24 52 13.
At Les Cuvées Vosgiennes, in La Bresse
The production of these fermented aperitifs can be visited, with a tasting, in a chalet at 34 route de Vologne: the listing mentions rhubarb, raspberry, bilberry, elderflower, fir buds and hand-picked mountain hay, and an alcohol-free range. It gives opening from Monday to Saturday, 9.30am to noon and 2.30pm to 6.30pm, but states neither the visit slots nor the price: phone +33 6 82 12 44 75.
To round off the day
La Bresse and its neighbours have other shelters: see what to do in La Bresse in the rain, the Confiserie Bressaude and the textile heritage of the High Vosges. For children, the 1001 Roots Museum and the Ventron programme complete the list.
