La Bresse ice rink is an open-air ice rink housed under a hall built from local timber, run by the town hall’s Sports and Leisure department. For the 2025-2026 season, it ran from 20 December 2025 to 15 March 2026 inclusive. Hours may change depending on weather and snow conditions, including partway through the season.

The “young skaters” slot reserves the ice for children under 10 and their parents. Outside this slot, the rink stays open to everyone.

- entry and skate hire are charged separately, hire being added to the entry price;
- entry is free for children under 5;
- a family rate applies from 4 people of the same family including 2 children, equipment hire excluded;
- reduced rates exist for groups.
Skate hire and equipment
The venue has more than 300 pairs of skates (sizes 27 to 50), plus skating aids for younger children and helmets for hire. Support frames are provided for children who are learning to skate. Gloves are not compulsory but are recommended for every skater.
A practical option on non-ski days
The ice rink is a solid alternative when there isn’t enough snow on the ground, or when the alpine and cross-country ski slopes close temporarily due to poor conditions: the rink’s ice, by contrast, depends mainly on its published opening hours rather than snow cover on the slopes. It’s also a good way to fill a morning before or after a session of tree-top adventure in La Bresse, which runs at other times of year.

Another ice rink in the Hautes Vosges: Gérardmer
If La Bresse’s ice rink is closed, or if you’re looking for an alternative in the neighbouring valley, Gérardmer has its own 800 m² synthetic ice rink at 7 rue des Pêcheurs. It opens on weekends during the school year (Saturday 2:30-7pm, Sunday 3-6pm) and every day during school holidays except Sunday, at the same hours. In summer, it only opens in case of bad weather, as a stand-in for the aquatic centre. Access is possible from age 4 with an adult and age 7 unaccompanied, using hired skates only.
