The 36th Impossible Hill Climb in La Bresse takes place at Col de Grosse-Pierre on 18 and 19 July 2026. In this motorcycle competition, riders tackle a very steep slope and a final wall listed at 140% by the tourist office. Riders who reach the top are separated by their times.

Schedule for 18 and 19 July

The event uses a different timetable on each day:

  • Saturday 18 July, 6 pm–11:30 pm: night-time motorcycle show;
  • Sunday 19 July, 8 am–6 pm: competition day.

These times come from the official tourist office listing. The municipal calendar also lists the Impossible Hill Climb on 18 and 19 July. To place the event within the rest of your stay, see our guide to La Bresse in July.

Location and admission

The venue is Col de Grosse-Pierre, 88250 La Bresse. The tourism listing gives a standard adult admission price of €10. No other price is detailed there as of 14 July 2026. Families or groups needing a specific rate should contact the organiser through the official listing before travelling.

The two official pages consulted do not provide an event parking plan. Check the latest access instructions from the organiser and allow extra arrival time, especially on Sunday morning.

Preparing for the event as a spectator

A motorcycle hill climb brings engine noise, moving crowds and steep ground. Stay in the areas indicated for spectators and follow the organiser’s instructions on site. Hearing protection is useful, particularly for children. Footwear suited to uneven ground and a jacket for Saturday evening can also make an outdoor wait more comfortable.

Check the weather in La Bresse and on the summits before setting out. Times and access conditions can change, so use the tourist office listing and instructions at the venue as your operational references.

Extending the trip around the pass

Col de Grosse-Pierre lies in mountain terrain where traffic and events can affect journey times. Avoid booking another timed activity too close to this one. For a separate scenic drive, plan with our Route des Crêtes guide and check road conditions on the day.
