A rainy afternoon, a shortened walk, an evening with no plans: around La Bresse, four cinemas share the bill. The village has its own cinema, the Grand Écran. Two more are in Gérardmer and one is in Vagney. Below you will find their addresses, published prices and payment methods, taken from the cinemas’ own sites and from the tourist offices.
The Grand Écran cinema in La Bresse
The Grand Écran cinema is at 4 rue du Souvenir in La Bresse (phone: 03 29 25 60 38). The tourist office describes it as an Art et Essai (arthouse) cinema with 6 to 8 screenings and 1 to 3 films a week: mainstream films, auteur films and documentaries. On 30 September, the programme on the tourist office website covered screenings up to 20 October 2026, generally with one screening a day.
During the summer and winter school holidays, the listing announces special programmes for the whole family, and the Tourisme Vosges listing also mentions ciné-goûters (film sessions with a snack) for children and event screenings. Neither mentions the Toussaint (All Saints) school holidays: the week’s programme is what tells you.
On prices, the listing does not publish a price list. It only says that joining the association (the listing calls it the “MLC”) gives a subscription rate of €4 a screening throughout the year. The full price has to be asked for by phone. The payment methods listed are bank and postal cheques, holiday vouchers (chèques vacances) and cash: bank cards do not appear.
Gérardmer: the Casino JOA and the MCL
The Casino JOA cinema is at 3 avenue de la Ville de Vichy (phone: 03 29 60 05 05). Its screen has 392 seats and access for people with reduced mobility; the entrance is separate from the casino’s. JOA lists €8 full price and €6 reduced price (students, under-16s, seniors over 60, holiday pass, JOA Club members, works-council tickets), plus a subscription of 10 screenings plus one free at €65. The cinema is open from 5pm to 10pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and the day before a public holiday, and from 3pm to 10pm on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Payment is by cash, bank card, cheque, ZAP cheque, holiday voucher, Cinéchèque or the cinema industry’s welfare schemes (œuvres sociales du cinéma); no change is given on ZAP cheques, holiday vouchers and Cinéchèques.
The Maison de la Culture et des Loisirs (MCL) cinema is at 1 boulevard de Saint-Dié (phone: 03 29 63 11 96). According to the Gérardmer tourist office, the screen is classed Art et Essai, carries the “jeune public” (young audiences) label and has 210 seats. The “Cinéma” menu on the MCL website links to the Ticketing Ciné platform, where showtimes can be viewed; the MCL reception is open Monday to Friday from 2pm to 8.30pm. The price of a screening is not published as text: the membership card (€6 for under-16s, €12 from age 16) gives reduced rates on the cinema, and holiday vouchers are accepted. For the April 2026 holidays, the MCL had scheduled five animated films for young audiences, recommended from age 3, 5, 6 or 8 depending on the film.
L’Entr’Actes in Vagney
The L’Entr’Actes cinema is on place de la Libération in Vagney, within the area of the La Bresse Hautes Vosges tourist office (phone given by the office: 06 52 34 15 66). This inter-municipal facility, funded by the Communauté de communes des Hautes Vosges, is run by volunteers from the Vagney-Loisirs association. Its screen has 126 seats, 4 of them for people with reduced mobility; it has been renovated since July 2025, with digital and 3D projection.
The site lists €6 full price and €4 reduced price (with proof: under-18s, students, CEZAM card), €1 extra for 3D glasses, and a 10-seat card at €50 valid for a year. Accepted payment: cash, bank card, cheque, ZAP cheque, Ciné chèque (digital version not accepted) and chèque cinéma universel.

Choosing a cinema on a rainy day
With young children, the MCL and the Grand Écran each announce dedicated programming: a young-audience label on one side, ciné-goûters on the other. Holiday screenings change from one week to the next, so check the current programme. On a tight budget, the lowest published price lists are Vagney’s (€6 and €4). The Casino JOA (392 seats), at €8 and €6, opens from 3pm on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. One last practical point: the Grand Écran does not list bank cards, so bring cash or a cheque.

Check the programme before you go
Screenings change every week. The Grand Écran programme is on the cinema programme page of the La Bresse Hautes Vosges tourist office, the programme of the two Gérardmer cinemas is on the cinema page of the Gérardmer tourist office, and L’Entr’Actes’ programme is on the cinema’s website. The prices and payment methods above were noted on 30 September 2026: a call to the cinema removes any doubt before you set out.
