The Schantzwasen Reindeer Farm lies in the Tanet massif at Stosswihr, on the Alsatian side of the mountains. It is not in La Bresse itself: the La Bresse Hautes-Vosges tourist office places it 30 km from La Bresse. What the visit includes
The operator describes a herd of about thirty reindeer. Visitors follow an 800-metre educational forest trail to see them. A museum, introductory video and Father Christmas cabin are also listed.
The advertised duration is about one hour. The route is self-guided and signposted, with keepers present to explain the rules and answer questions. The animals move freely, so the operator does not guarantee that the whole herd will be visible.

The farm is listed as closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during these periods. The tourist office advertises a 4 pm feeding carried out by the team; visitors may not feed the reindeer. Prices and payment
The operator publishes €7 from age 11, €5 from ages 3 to 10 and free entry under age 3. Valid proof is required for child and free tickets. Cash, bank cards and paper holiday vouchers are listed as accepted on site.

Getting there from La Bresse
The address is Massif du Tanet, 68140 Stosswihr. The operator places the farm at about 1,100 metres and says not to follow sat-nav directions. From Col de la Schlucht, stay on the D417, turn towards the Tanet ski area, then follow signs for “Schantzwasen” or “Ferme aux Rennes”.
Footwear and accessibility
The operator’s FAQ requires mountain footwear throughout the year and refuses trainers, sandals and town shoes. The trail includes steps, roots, stones and elevation changes, so it is not accessible to pushchairs or wheelchairs.
Pets, picnics and food brought onto the farm are forbidden, and visitors may not feed the reindeer. There are no toilets on the farm trail; the inn’s facilities are listed for use before or after entry. Contact the operator before travelling if you have a particular accessibility requirement.
